Do you ever feel that you’re just talking photos of nonsense? Well you are not alone. Every photographer goes through this period and it might be more than once. If you are your worst critic than your are in for several of these periods. However this a good thin.
Let me explain myself. When I say that ‘it is a good thin’ what I’m referring to is that during this period, even though you think you are not achieving anything, is when you are really learning the craft of photography. Taking pictures of what you may think is nonsense allows to dig deep and search for the why?, how? and what? It allows those gears inside your brain to activate and sometimes is when you learn the most.
During this time is when you get to know your camera, lenses, speedlites and everything you use the best. When you feel you are stuck in a period like this use it to try new things. If you only shoot in color try B&W and vice versa. If you are more used to a prime lens use a zoom lens or a different focal length and so on.
Don’t be discouraged we all go through it. I follow Joe Edelman on YouTube and I’m going to use a quote of his:
“Remember your best shot is your next shot”
That is all for now. As always it’s an honor to have you as my readers. If you have anything you like to add please leave your comment below in the comments section.
Thank you and keep shooting;
Through the Lens of an Amateur.
